L'ISU-122 est un canon automoteur soviétique (classer également chasseur de char) de la seconde guerre mondiale. Les premiers prototypes de ce char sont apparus en 1943 et la production de série s'est poursuivie de 1943/1945. Le poids du char était de 45 tonnes. La motricité était assurée par un seul moteur W-2-IS de 520 CV.

Il était armé d'un canon D-25S de calibre 122 mm et d'une mitrailleuse PPS de 7,62mm. Le canon automoteur ISU-122 à été développé par Fabryka IM Kirov en Tchebiabinsk. Afin de simplifier le travail de développement, le nouveau canon était basée sur le châssis lourd du ISU-2. Il convient d'ajouter que le nouveau canon automoteur partageait de nombreux éléments structurelles et composants du ISU-152 modifié. L'ISU-122 SPG est considéré comme un véhicule généralement efficace avec un armement puissant qui pouvait engager avec succès le blindé ennemie. Les inconvénients cependant incluent le champs de vision, en limitant la vue de l'équipage et certains problèmes lors de la conduite hors route, pour cause du long canon de 122mm. Les chars ISU-122 ont été utilisés avec succès sur le front de l'est de 1943 à 1945.

The ISU-122 is a Soviet self-propelled gun (also classified as tank destroyer) from the Second World War. The first prototypes of this tank appeared in 1943 and serial production continued from 1943/1945. The weight of the tank was 45 tons. The engine was a single 520 hp W-2-IS.It was armed with a 122 mm D-25S gun and a 7.62 mm PPS machine gun. The ISU-122 self-propelled gun was developed by Fabryka IM Kirov in Chebiabinsk. To simplify the development work, the new gun was based on the heavy chassis of the ISU-2. It should be added that the new AAP shared many of the structural elements and components of the modified ISU-152. The ISU-122 SPG is considered a generally effective vehicle with powerful weaponry that could successfully engage the enemy tank. The disadvantages however include field of view, limiting the view of the crew and some problems when driving off-road, because of the long 122mm gun. The ISU-122 vehicles were successfully used on the Eastern Front from 1944 to 1945.
